Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!!
Father's Day 2013. None of the children are here this year to celebrate Father's Day but they did all phone! I decided to make hubby a card and cook him a nice dinner. I've made a rhubarb and strawberry pie and he will be getting chicken, mashed potatoes and some veggies to go with it! He is a meat and potatoes guy so this is what he wants, just something basic and tasty! Who said you need kids to celebrate it with:O)! He loved the card and had a good laugh about it. It really isn't that bad in our house but the dog does lie at his feet and if you took the remote and newspaper away and replaced then with a 'tablet' it starts to fit in a little better :O)

ReplyDeleteOMG...you sneaked into my house an took a pic of my husband. Ok...nix the newspaper and put an IPand on his stomach...one dog in his lap and one at his feet. My sons were able to be home for the day, but I know that won't always happen. Glad your DH had a nice day with his meat and potatoes....just like my husband....haha

ReplyDeleteOur kids couldn't make it either...one with shingles at the contagious stage and one lives half the year on another continent!
We had a stuffed baked chicked, mashed potatoes and gravy, and veg or course.
I even made his fave...chocolate cake!
See...mine is a meat and potatoes kind of guy...just like yours!

P.S I made a Rhubarb and Apple Crumble on Sunday, I must try Strawberries but they currently aren't in season here in New Zealand it's winter. We all love Rhubarb in our household.
